2022 Drums on the Dam Timeline

Wednesday, Aug. 3

4-7pm: Team Practices

Team members must arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled practice to receive instructions and an introduction to dragon boat racing from a steerer.

Thursday, Aug. 4

Friday, Aug. 5

1pm: Tent Set Up

Douglas Dam Headwater Campground
1680 Boat Launch Rd,

Teams can begin to set up their tents in their assigned numbered space starting at 1 pm if they choose.

4-7pm: Team Practices

Saturday, Aug. 6

Race Day!!!
7:30-8am: Teams Arrive, Registration

Douglas Dam Headwater Campground
1680 Boat Launch Rd,
Sevierville, TN 37876

Team captains must report to registration to receive the race packet and wristbands, plus check team roster for changes and additions.

Teams are responsible for setting up their tent in their assigned space if they did not do so on Friday. All team members should be at the Douglas Dam Headwater Campground.

Alternate or replacement team members must have signed a waiver. Check to make sure they have completed the waiver before reporting to the registration table.

8:30am

Opening Ceremony begins! Includes Race Day announcements and the Awakening the Dragon Ceremony.

8:45am

First Steerer's Auction

Secure your favorite steerer for the morning races! Please be sure to have cash, credit card or check to pay.

9:10am

20-minute warning to start of race. All teams must report to the team photo spot before their first race. The race day marshal will provide directions.

9:30am

First Round Heats Begin!

11:00am

Start of second round of heats

12:00pm

Drummer's Parade and Lunch Break

Drummers should be dressed in costume and ready for the parade lineup at noon under the main tent.
